In December 2013 I traveled to Abené again to see how far the preparations for the construction of the orphanage in Abené have progressed. My working visit to Abené was very busy, I had to arrange a lot to get the orphanage started this year.
The needs are still very great, and therefore all donations are, and remain, extremely welcome.
On January 4, 2014 we had a day with the 50 orphans of Abené, where we distributed school supplies, gifts that we received from the Netherlands for our foundation, all from friends and colleagues from my work in Holland. We also had many baby items such as bottles, rompers, socks, diapers, etc.
The Rosangelankie Foundation has also received bedding for the orphans and uniforms for the staff who come to work in the center from a Norwegian benefactor. We are very happy with that.
We discussed the construction of the orphanage with the local government and we looked at the construction drawings and determined the steps that needed to be taken. The foundation is in place and they are busy pouring the floor.
We hope that we can start caring for the orphans this year, we have discussed this with the local government. The photos of the working visit are in the photo folder.
The foundation now has access to a sea container, which will be filled with all the items we have received. We are now diligently looking for the financial resources to ship this container to Abené, all donations, large and small, are welcome to make this happen.
